Details: The Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs (OATSIA) is seeking an experienced and motivated Director to contribute to the delivery of strategic policy, governance, programs and initiatives that improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the ACT. This Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identified position works across government and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to support implementation of the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Agreement 2019–2028 and the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.

The successful applicant will lead and coordinate complex policy, governance, grants administration, project and community engagement activities; provide high-quality strategic advice to executives and stakeholders; and build strong partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, representative bodies and government agencies.

The role works closely with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body (ATSIEB) and the ACT Reconciliation Council to support effective governance, engagement and collaboration. The role also coordinates the delivery of the ACT Reconciliation Day event and contributes to the assessment, administration and evaluation of a range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander grant programs and other community-led initiatives that support the ACT Government's priorities.

A Merit Pool or merit list will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
