About The Traineeship

As a GPC trainee, you will undertake a structured, supported training program that combines on-the-job learning with formal study through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

As part of the Environmental Maintenance Crew, you will work toward completing a Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations while gaining practical experience across GPC’s terminal operations. This is a 2-year fixed term full-time traineeship with regular working hours, structured training commitments and routine supervision to support your development.

What You’ll Be Doing

Under supervision, trainees will assist with:

  • Undertaking site clean-up duties in terminal areas including tunnels, belts, drains, transfer houses and berths

  • Completing pre-start checks, inspections and visual checks on fixed plant and mobile equipment while carrying out clean-up and wash-down activities
  • Identifying and reporting potential repairs, maintenance issues and operational concerns to support safe and efficient terminal performance
  • Working in accordance with safe work practices, environmental controls, schedules and established plans
  • Recording daily work activities and operational data using digital systems
  • Following structured daily, weekly and monthly routines, and maintaining tools, equipment and facilities in clean working order
  • Interacting politely and professionally with team members, contractors and members of the public in operational areas

Our Values in Action

At GPC, being a trainee means more than learning on the job — it means demonstrating respect for each other, country and community, operating with integrity and accountability, looking for better and more sustainable ways of working, and collaborating to deliver strong team performance. You will be expected to take safety seriously, follow procedures, care for the environment, and contribute positively to your team every day. We value people who are reliable, respectful, willing to learn and committed to living GPC’s values in everything they do.
