Compliance Officer

About the Role

The compliance officer will be responsible for;

• Implementing and managing compliance plans for the import, export, and resale of items such as; ammunition, firearms, and their related components, while ensuring compliance with ITAR, as well as U.S. and global export control regulations.
• Providing expertise and guidance on trade compliance matters.
• Contribute to the compliance manual, by developing, implementing, maintaining and improving import and export control compliance policies and procedures.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of a mandatory training program covering various topics, including Australian export controls, Defence and Strategic Goods List (DSGL) and Defence Export Controls (DEC)
• Providing oversight and approval of DEC application submissions
• Conduct internal compliance audits
• Manage the WAL Australian Trusted Trader program compliance activities

About You

The successful incumbent will have;

• Experience in trade compliance, international trade controls or international contracts management, either from defence or dangerous goods import/export.
• Strong understanding of the U.S. and global export regulations.
