Job Title – Australia-Business Development Rep

Job Location – Sydney, Melbourne,Perth

Employment Type – Contract

What Role You Will Play In Team

Are you a sharp, commercially-minded sales professional looking for a high-impact, flexible role in the tech and transport space?

As a Fleet Acquisition Specialist, your mission is to expand Uber’s fleet footprint by securing strategic partnerships with two key segments: traditional taxi fleets/operators and small-to-medium premium fleets (luxury hire cars, independent chauffeur services).

Instead of recruiting individual drivers, you will focus on high-value B2B acquisition. You will engage fleet owners and taxi operators to onboard their entire portfolios onto the Uber platform as 1P (First Party) Fleet Partners, helping them digitize, scale, and maximize their earning potential.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Pipeline & Lead Generation
  • Market Mapping: Identify, map, and target local taxi network operators, taxi plate holders, small-to-medium premium chauffeur fleets, and luxury transport operators within your state.
  • Outbound Prospecting: Utilize cold outreach, networking, and field research to connect directly with business decision-makers and fleet owners.
  • B2B Pitching & Value Proposition
  • The Taxi Pitch: Articulate how partnering with Uber provides traditional taxi fleets with a powerful tech layer—driving higher asset utilization, reduced dead-meter time, and access to a massive, continuous demand pool.
  • The Premium Pitch: Conduct professional presentations to luxury fleet owners, showing them how to fill gaps in their private booking schedules by accessing Uber’s high-end corporate demand pool (Uber Black/Premier).
  • Deal Structuring: Understand the unique pain points of fleet owners (depreciation, idle time, driver retention) and position Uber as the ultimate optimization solution.
  • Qualification & Onboarding Pipeline
  • Vetting: Ensure prospective fleets meet Uber's strict premium vehicle compliance, insurance, and quality standards.
  • Account Setup: Guide fleet partners through the initial B2B account creation, ensuring a seamless handoff to the operations team for vehicle and driver upload.

What We’re Looking For (Attributes)

  • Versatile B2B Sales Experience: Proven track record in outbound sales or business development. Experience dealing with small-to-medium business owners is required; familiarity with the taxi, transport, rental car, or logistics industries is a major advantage.
  • Commercial Acumen: You understand business metrics. You can comfortably talk about asset utilization, revenue per kilometer, and ROI with established business owners.
  • Self-Starter & Autonomous: You will be the sole representative in your state. You don't need hand-holding; you enjoy running your own territory and driving your own pipeline.
  • Polished Communicator: You possess the sophistication to pitch to premium operators and the grit and persistence required to build trust within traditional taxi networks.
  • Organization & Reporting Discipline: You must possess exceptional self-organization and data hygiene. You are comfortable keeping tracking sheets meticulously updated while on the road, and you can synthesize your field insights into clean, concise visual updates/slides for internal stakeholders and management.
