About the Role

The PeopleSoft Technical Officer plays a key role in supporting and enhancing the organisation’s PeopleSoft HR and Global Payroll systems. The role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining technical solutions, working closely with functional analysts and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions.

The role is required to perform tasks that include but are not limited to:

  • interpretation of functional requirements and translating them into technical specifications to support technical analysis, along with experience in the development and unit testing of system enhancements, including retrofitting
  • providing SIT and UAT support and defect resolution during these test phases
  • deployment of changes to Production and providing ongoing post-implementation support
  • identifying and performing manual workarounds for incidents that cannot be solved promptly
  • being the first point of contact for technical system support to the business key stakeholders and end-users
  • fostering and maintaining relationships and educate key internal and external stakeholders and end-users
  • researching, interviewing, investigating or consulting with others on ideas/alternatives to advise or recommend system improvements
  • undertaking impact analysis and risk assessments
  • providing support to team members and other system users
  • participating in a support roster during business hours, with occasional out-of-hours work required
  • all other tasks as listed in the role description and any other duties as directed from time to time.

About You

The successful candidate will also possess the following:

  • tertiary qualifications in information systems or relevant industry experience
  • demonstrated experience in providing PeopleSoft technical deliverables e.g. technical design specifications and system enhancements
  • technical PeopleSoft knowledge in PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component interfaces; SQL and Oracle databases; BI Publisher, SQR or similar reporting tools; experience with integration broker and system interfaces
  • understanding of SDLC with a primary focus on design, development, unit testing, testing support, production deployment and post-implementation Support
  • demonstrated ability to analyse and translate functional specifications into technical solutions, and deliver end-to-end technical development within PeopleSoft HR or Global Payroll
  • experience in providing technical support in a BAU environment for PeopleSoft HR and/or Global Payroll, including issue analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution
  • demonstrated ability to multitask and willingness to take on tasks of different nature e.g. adaptability in moving from project to BAU support as the need arises
  • experience in customer service and liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • willingness to respect, support, and uphold the mission, ethos, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of SCS.
