Our client is a leading equipment solutions provider with a strong reputation across the Australian market. With a customer-first approach and a high-performing, collaborative culture, they are continuing to grow and are seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join their in-house team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional who enjoys variety, autonomy, and partnering closely with the business to drive commercial outcomes.
The Opportunity;
Reporting into senior leadership, you will provide strategic and practical legal advice across a broad range of matters, with a key focus on commercial disputes and contract management.
Key Responsibilities;
- Manage a broad portfolio of commercial disputes, including debt recovery, damaged equipment claims, personal injury matters, and commercial litigation
- Develop dispute strategies that balance commercial outcomes with legal risk
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of contracts including customer, supplier, procurement, IT, and marketing agreements
- Advising stakeholders across multiple business units
- Managing external and insurer counsel and insurer relationships
- Advising on a range of legal and regulatory matters including privacy, employment, consumer law, competition law, and transport regulations.
Key Requirement's:
- Ideally 6+ years’ PQE, from a leading law firm or renowned In-House organisation
- Previous In-House experience will be viewed favourably
- Proven experience managing commercial disputes and litigation matters end-to-end
- Strong drafting, review, and negotiation experience across commercial contracts
- Commercially minded with a solutions-focused approach
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent relationship building skills
