The Organisation

Our client plays a critical role in keeping communities connected. They are on the lookout for a Payroll Officer to facilitate the delivery of their fortnightly payroll.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager and working within a large team, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing a fortnightly payroll for approximately 5000 employees
  • Processing terminations, redundancies and entity changes
  • Responding to escalated payroll queries in an efficient and timely manner
  • Maintenance of the payroll system
  • Update and maintain accurate payroll records
  • Maintain leave, sick and overtime reports
  • Reporting to meet internal and statutory obligations
  • Process variations, increases and calculation of back pays
  • Preparation and payment of superannuation, workcover and other payroll related deductions
  • Maintain administrative procedures and systems which enhance the delivery of services
  • Identify opportunities for improving efficiencies, policies, procedures and practices and share these with the payroll team

Candidate Profile

The successful applicant will have proven experience in a similar payroll officer position along with the following skills and attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors (EC/ECP) is highly regarded
  • Proven process improvement initiatives
  • High attention to detail including prioritising and organising workload
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work well under pressure
  • Confident when dealing with stakeholders both internal and external
  • Able to take initiative and accountability for assigned task
