The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Accountant that will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and compliance of the organisation. The position involves a wide range of responsibilities essential for effective financial management and strategic decision-making.

About You

You have excellent skills with accounting, a real passion for pinpoint accuracy and ability to identifying meaningful details. Possessing people skills to work as part of a tight-knit team, business partner with internal and external stakeholders, and the self-motivation to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts to support business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with taxation laws and regulations, including the preparation and submission of tax returns.
  • Monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide advice on tax planning strategies to optimise compliance and minimise liabilities.
  • Assist in budgeting by preparing detailed budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that drive strategic initiatives and operational efficiency.
  • Manage cash flow projections and working capital to maintain optimal liquidity.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of taxation laws and compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in preparing tax returns.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly SAP.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar commercial accounting role.
  • Experience handling complex tax matters and corporate tax compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Prior involvement in audit processes or working with auditors is preferred.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment is advantageous.
