About The Role And Team

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our growing Property & Projects team in our Adelaide office.

In this role you will provide administrative support to a Partner and a team of lawyers within our Property & Projects practice. We are looking for a career focussed legal assistant who is passionate about providing a great service to our lawyers and clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • attending to and assisting lawyers with settlements;
  • assisting with commercial leasing portfolios including document preparation and file management;
  • telephone handling for the team;
  • calendar management and booking of meetings, travel and accommodation;
  • general accounts work including month end billing, preparation of trust receipts and cheque forms;
  • managing client file maintenance for the team, including file opening, conflict searches and closing files;
  • conducting searches (e.g. company, title, property certificates);
  • coordinating incoming and outgoing correspondence;
  • maintaining Partners’/Lawyers’ contacts in our firm CRM InterAction, including assisting with list management on their behalf for events and communications;
  • liaising with internal and external stakeholders;
  • helping to organise team presentations and events;
  • assisting other legal assistants as required; and
  • other ad-hoc administration duties as needed.

About You

You will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • a minimum of 2 years of legal assistant experience within a law firm;
  • you will have experience supporting fee-earners in a property law practice;
  • excellent communication skills;
  • strong organisational / time management skills;
  • strong attention to detail;
  • ability to work under pressure and manage a high-volume workload, as needed;
  • a strong ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; and
  • experience using Filesite (iManage), Aderant PEXA and Duties Online is preferred.
