Location: Australia and New Zealand

Vessel: Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) up to 1500 GT

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and industrious to join our trailing suction hopper dredger vessel operating in Australia and New Zealand. It will be an advantage, but not a requirement if previous experience from Dredgers, Tugs, Coasters, or other working vessels. We expect you to be flexible and a team player helping with all tasks required for an optimal operation of our vessels. You will become a part of a cohesive team, which for many tend to become their extended family over time.

Key Responsibilities

• To perform watch duties according to orders.
• To carry out normal work on deck and in the engine room.
• To take part in operation in connection with vessels dredging operations.
• To take part in vessels safety preparedness.
• Assist the Chief Officer in their duties as directed by the Master.
• Navigation on their watch.
• Ensure that vessel’s logbook and radio logbook is filled in according to requirements from authorities.
• Supervise loading and discharging operations carried out on the watch.
• Carry out measurements of cargo on board to ensure knowledge of delivered cargo quantity.

Qualifications

Certificate of Competency (COC) minimum STCW II/2, Chief Mate up to 3000 GT

All certificates must be endorsed in accordance with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) for Seafarers, 1978.
