Lead a dynamic team supporting the Australian Defence Force!

Mentor talent, enhance skills, and foster key relationships with Wodonga TAFE and Defence Troop Command.

The Team Leader is based at Robertson Barracks – Darwin. The position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of civilian driver trainers, supporting Army driver training and assessments. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring participants meet Defence standards and timelines. Working under the guidance of the Manager Driver Machinery & Plant Training, you'll help shape the future of Defence driver training programs. Selected Duties

  • Oversee daily trainer operations, including staff induction, training, and compliance with health and safety policies.
  • Collaborate with the DMPT Senior Instructor and Darwin Troop Command on performance reviews and develop personalised training plans for each trainer.
  • Ensure training programs meet Defence and AQF standards while maintaining professional delivery and accurate documentation.
  • Forecast and book resources and facilities, ensuring cost-effective training delivery and optimal trainer-to-student ratios.

ABOUT YOU

Skills & Experience

  • Holds a valid Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, with a minimum of five years experience in the transport industry or otherwise enrolled in or willing to complete Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and progressing towards achievement within 18 Months and have 5 years training experience in the transport industry.
  • Current Heavy Combination (HC) Licence held for at least 12 months.
  • Proven leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Current Australian Driver Licence.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen to be able to gain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
