Claims Officer

Join our Insurance team as a Claims Officer – Commercial Property Claims.

This is a permanent full-time role open to applicants in Brisbane or Sydney.

Join Suncorp as a Claims Officer supporting our Commercial Property Claims team, where you will manage a portfolio of property claims from lodgement through to finalisation.

This is a hands-on customer focused role where you will balance great service with sound decision making, ensuring claims are progressed fairly, accurately and in line with policy requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Act as the key point of contact for customers and intermediaries across the end-to-end claims journey
• Deliver clear, proactive and professional communication throughout the life of each claim
• Manage a portfolio of commercial property claims from lodgement through to settlement
• Assess coverage, review reports and determine next steps in line with policy and guidelines
• Work with assessors, repairers and suppliers to ensure timely and quality outcomes
• Negotiate settlements and support cost effective claim resolution
• Identify and escalate complex issues, delays, risks and vulnerable customer needs
• Maintain accurate records and file notes to support decision making and compliance
• Support recovery, salvage and fraud identification opportunities
• Contribute to continuous improvement and better customer outcomes

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in a customer service environment, ideally within insurance
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex information simply
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
• Strong problem solving and decision-making capability
• High attention to detail and strong documentation discipline
• Confidence working with systems and handling data accurately
• Understanding of general insurance principles is highly desirable
• Experience in claims, dispute resolution or negotiations is an advantage
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and accountability
