The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager and sitting on the Affiliate Leadership Team, the Head of Access, Sustainability & External Engagement will lead the organisation's Market Access strategy while providing oversight across Pricing, External Engagement, Patient Advocacy and broader healthcare stakeholder initiatives.

The successful candidate will combine deep reimbursement, pricing and HTA expertise with the leadership capability to operate as a strategic business leader and member of the Affiliate Leadership Team. Leading a team of experienced professionals, you will be responsible for developing and executing access strategies that optimise patient access, strengthen external stakeholder relationships and support the successful launch and lifecycle management of innovative therapies.

You will partner closely with Medical, Commercial, Regulatory, Finance and regional stakeholders while representing the organisation externally with government, industry and healthcare decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Market Access, pricing, reimbursement and HTA strategies across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring optimal patient access for both in-market and pipeline products
  • Provide enterprise leadership as a member of the Affiliate Leadership Team, contributing to broader business strategy, organisational priorities and long-term growth
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Access, Sustainability & External Engagement team, fostering collaboration, capability development and organisational alignment
  • Lead and oversee PBAC, reimbursement and pricing initiatives across pipeline and in-market products
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with government, healthcare and policy stakeholders
  • Drive external engagement strategies across industry bodies, patient organisations and broader healthcare stakeholders
  • Partner with Medical, Commercial, Regulatory and Finance teams to ensure aligned access and launch planning
  • Support sustainability and policy initiatives that contribute to long-term patient access outcomes
  • Identify, develop and retain talent within the function while strengthening cross-functional collaboration and ways of working

Skills & Experience

  • Significant pharmaceutical industry experience within senior Market Access leadership roles, including pricing, reimbursement and HTA strategy
  • Deep understanding of Australian reimbursement, pricing and HTA pathways
  • Demonstrated success leading market access strategies, reimbursement submissions and stakeholder engagement initiatives
  • Experience engaging with senior healthcare, policy and government stakeholders
  • Proven people leadership experience, including development of high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead beyond function, influencing organisational strategy and contributing at Leadership Team level
  • Strong enterprise leadership capability with experience operating across multiple business functions
  • Tertiary qualifications in science, pharmacy, economics, public health or a related discipline
