A dedicated team has been established to develop and implement strategies and systems to support the safety of AV's workforce. As such we are seeking a Senior Manager Safety – Occupational Violence (OV) to lead this important work. Working within the Safety, Recovery & Inclusion department, leading enterprise health and safety strategy systems and performance. This position focuses on reducing occupational violence, embedding a risk-based safety culture, improving risk management and incident response.
This is a Full Time, Fixed Term until July 2028 position. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Doncaster in line with our hybrid working model.
About The Role
Reporting to the Director, Safety, Recovery and Inclusion, responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of OV prevention and response strategies
- Monitor safety performance and emerging risks, using data-driven insights to prioritise interventions and improve outcomes
- Ensure safety systems support high-quality, patient-centred care while protecting workforce safety
- Maintain policies, processes and procedures, ensuring they are current and in line with relevant legislation, business requirements and industry best practice
- Drive the prevention, management, and recovery framework for OV
About You
The ideal candidate has:
- Tertiary degree in Work Health and Safety, Risk Management or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of training and high-level relevant experience
- Certification in incident investigation and/or risk management methodologies (desirable)
- Senior leadership experience in health and safety within complex, high-risk environments
- Expertise managing high-risk hazards, including occupational violence and psychosocial risk
- Proven ability to lead strategies to prevent and respond to violence and aggression
- Demonstrated success designing and governing enterprise safety management systems
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and best practice
