Manager - Non-Process Infrastructure and Site Services

Briscoe Search & Consulting

  • Build the infrastructure and services platform for a fast-growing mining business
  • Broad greenfield role across camps, utilities, roads, logistics, security and site support
  • Practical, commercially minded leader wanted – not simply a facilities manager

Our client, a newly established Australian mining business, is moving rapidly from planning into operations. With funding secured, key contracts in place and multiple sites being brought online, the business now needs an experienced infrastructure and site services leader to help build the operating platform from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity to join at the front end of a greenfield growth story and shape how critical infrastructure and support services are established across the business. You will take ownership of the non-process infrastructure that keeps mining and processing moving, including camps, water, wastewater, roads, dewatering, fuel, logistics, security, buildings and site services. The position will be split between Perth (2 weeks) and site (1 week), every 3 weeks.

This is not simply a village or facilities role. The portfolio includes production-critical services where poor planning or delivery can directly affect operational performance. You will need to be comfortable building systems, managing contractors, solving problems quickly and creating consistency across a major operating site and satellite locations.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working as part of the operational leadership team, you will help establish the standards, work programs, contractor arrangements and asset plans required to support safe, reliable and cost-effective operations.

Your responsibilities will include oversight of:

  • Camps, accommodation and village services
  • Potable water, wastewater and sewerage systems
  • Borefields, pumps, pipelines and water transfer
  • Dewatering infrastructure
  • Roads, drainage, civil works and dust suppression
  • Fuel supply, freight and critical site logistics
  • Buildings, workshops, utilities and laydown areas
  • Security, access control and site protection
  • Infrastructure projects and asset replacement
  • Site services across satellite operations

You will work closely with Mining, Processing, Maintenance, Health and Safety, Environment and Commercial teams to ensure infrastructure priorities support production. Much of the work will be delivered through contractors, so strong commercial judgement, clear standards and the ability to hold service providers accountable will be essential.

The successful person will be practical, organised and solutions focused. You will enjoy operating in a fast-moving environment where not everything is already built and where there is real scope to influence how the business operates as it grows.

You are likely to bring strong experience in mining, resources, infrastructure or remote operations, with exposure across several of the following areas:

  • Non-process infrastructure or site services
  • Water, wastewater and utility systems
  • Remote camps and village operations
  • Roads and civil infrastructure
  • Contractor and service-provider management
  • Logistics, fuel and critical supply chains
  • Multi-site operations
  • Capital projects and asset management

You may currently be working as a Site Services Manager, Site Services Superintendent, NPI Manager, Infrastructure Superintendent or Civil Infrastructure Manager. A trade, engineering or project management qualification would be useful, but practical operating experience, judgement and the ability to get things done will matter most. This role will suit someone who wants to build rather than inherit, and who is excited by the pace, ambiguity and opportunity that comes with an emerging mining business.
