What are we looking for?

The Cost Claims Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of pre-litigated and litigated costs claims in Victorian workers compensation and motor vehicle accident claims. They understand the importance of completing all cost claims and costs related work with a high level of accuracy and appropriate level of detail.

This is a Full Time, permanent position located from our Melbourne office.

In this role, your duties will include (but not limited to) the following

  • Prepare and lodge fixed fee cost claims in the Victorian workers compensation and motor vehicle practices including negotiation of outcomes.
  • Accurately perform full disbursement reconciliations to ensure all disbursements are captured (and where appropriate allocated to the correct stage of a claim).
  • Management of all aspects of general costing administration.
  • Proactively builds relationship with Dispute Management Division at WorkSafe
  • Work with Heads of Practice and Operations Manager to develop strategies to maximise disbursement recovery with WorkSafe and self-insurers
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Actively contributes to the enhancement of processes and procedures by providing suggestions for improvement.

What will you bring?

  • Experience working in the legal industry - Workers Compensation and/Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • Experience with lodging fixed fee cost claims with WorkSafe, TAC and Defendant law firms
  • Ability to build strong and influential relationships internally and externally
  • Clear communication skills (both verbal and written) and an ability to tailor approach depending on the situation
  • Ability to take initiative, work to deadlines and multitask.
  • An enthusiastic and proactive approach.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Available to work 38 hours per week, between the hours of 8 30am – 5pm Monday to Friday
