About the Role

Based in Murray Bridge, we're looking for a microbiologist who is interested in food safety and the meat industry. As a Microbiologist, you will be responsible for conducting research and implementing strategies to ensure the safety and quality of meat products. Your duties will include:

• Conducting microbiological laboratory testing on meat samples to detect pathogens and spoilage organisms
• Adhere to strict microbiological protocols and procedures to maintain food safety standards
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs to address microbiological concerns and ensure compliance with industry regulations
• Investigating and troubleshooting microbiological issues in meat processing and storage
• Staying current with advancements in microbiological techniques and technologies

What we are looking for

• A degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field
• NATA accreditation highly advantageous
• Strong knowledge of microbiological principles and laboratory techniques
• Experience working in a food production or processing environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level communication and collaboration abilities.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
