The Opportunity

Ready to make an impact? Be hands on support and lead the material recovery facility (MRF) team where you will be the first point of contact providing supervision and guidance. You will also

support the Operations Manager with the day to day operations of the MRF where you'll ensure effective job allocation and completion while maintaining a safety-first approach, keeping customer expectations and performance targets at the forefront of everything you do.

What you'll be responsible for

Proactively monitor and supervise daily MRF operations including receipt, screening, recording, transfer and disposal of materials. Ensuring there is compliance with regulations, policies and business performance targets

Prepare and manage rosters, undertake weighbridge duties (when required), expenditure justification to keep operations running smoothly and costs at reasonable levels, while ensuring all employees, contractors and visitors uphold procedural standards

Work with the Central Operations Manager to maintain safe and effective operation of the Material Recovery Facility, implementing safe material handling procedures and monitoring non-conforming material

Ensure daily pre-starts are conducted, equipment is checked and maintained and all machinery is operated safely in line with training

Lead and support your team by providing constructive feedback, encouraging open communication, supervising performance (including sub-contractors) and ensuring Veolia's policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are consistently met

Maintain effective relationships with leadership and operational teams to monitor issues and concerns, while assisting with OHS coordination and compliance

What you'll need to be successful

Leadership/supervisory experience in an operations, plant or similar environment

Full Driver’s license (Manual preferable)

Forklift, Front-End Loader and HR licenses (desirable)

First Aid Basic certification

Certificate IV in Waste Management (Desirable)

Effective level communication skills (Written & Verbal)

Competency with Google Suite systems

Strong safety focus with a proactive approach
