What you'll be doing

This role provides an exciting opportunity to apply your clinical coding qualification while developing the practical skills required to become an independent and competent Clinical Coder. Through structured training and hands-on experience, you will learn to accurately interpret clinical documentation and assign codes in accordance with national standards.

  • Analyse inpatient health records and abstract relevant clinical information

  • Develop expertise in ICD-10-AM, ACHI and Australian Coding Standards (ACS)

  • Learn to accurately assign clinical codes using Solventum Codefinder software

  • Contribute to coding quality, accuracy and activity-based funding outcomes

  • Participate in ongoing education, competency assessments and performance development

How to Apply

  • Successful completion of a recognised clinical coding qualification (HIMAA) and/or a Health Information Management degree and/or OTEN Clinical Coding qualification.

  • Pre-requisite proficiency in Medical Terminology

  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and articulately.

  • Demonstrated excellence in organisation and time management with the ability to manage competing priorities and daily targets.

  • Ability to analyse, abstract and interpret information.

  • Enthusiastic attitude and demonstrated ability to work both independently, within a team and be flexible in a changing work environment.

  • Demonstrated experience using computer applications such as Patient Administration System (PAS) and Microsoft Office applications.
