The Position
The Infrastructure Services Division is responsible for ensuring that the City’s Infrastructure assets are constructed and maintained to a standard that closely aligns with the expectations of the community and the outcomes set out in Council’s Management and Operational Plan. The Infrastructure Services Division comprises of 5 branches: Civil Operations, Parks and Open Space, Fleet & Stores, Trade Services, and the Mechanical Workshop.
The Sign Installer position is part of the Sign Writing team who produce signs and other graphics for Fairfield City Council. The Sign Installer is responsible for installing of signs on roads and other Council properties to ensure the signage needs of Council and the public are met as specified.
Essential
- WHS General Construction Induction Card (White card)
- Drivers Licence Class C
- Experience in the installation of signs and assist with the Signs team
- Services awareness e.g. power, communications etc.
- Basic computer literacy
- Physical capability for carrying out labouring tasks
- Basic understanding of work construction plans
- Knowledge of WHS practices and job site safety
- Knowledge and experience in the use of hand tools / power tools
Desirable
- Forklift ticket
- First Aid Certificate
- MR &/or HR Licence or willingness to obtain
- HIAB ticket
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- Permanent full-time position, 76 hours per fortnight with a Rostered Day Off (RDO)
- This positions salary range is $60,239p.a. with progression to $63,257 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $70,522 p.a, plus 11.5% superannuation.
- Other allowances are payable subject to the Local Government (State) Award 2023
- A uniform is provided
- A mobile Telephone is provided
