An exciting opportunity exists for a Health Clinician to join the community-based Child and Youth Mental Health Safeguards team. The team provides intensive and flexible short-term skilled evidence-based therapeutic interventions. This may include individual and family therapy, parenting interventions, group work, and systemic intervention in collaboration with wider systems (e.g., educational, non-government, DJC, and private providers).

Allied Health Professionals Level 3: $58.95 - $60.86
Clinical Psychologist: $57.30 - $69.84
Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2: $62.82 - $64.89

Where you'll be working
The primary location will be Hornsby CYMHS or Brookvale CYMHS, with some travel and for work across the district in Lower North Shore and Ryde. the position is full time, however part time applications will be considered.
Established in 2022, Northern Sydney CYMHS Safeguards is a community-based multi-disciplinary team, providing brief therapeutic interventions for children and young people (age 0-17) experiencing acute mental health distress and their families/caregivers. Safeguards clinicians are integrated and co-located with community CYMHS across Northern Sydney Local Health District providing a seamless care pathway for families.
Safeguards is a supportive and cohesive team of clinicians committed to provide leading edge, trauma informed care. We receive specific training, supervision, and support on therapeutic intervention models such as: Attachment based family therapy, DBT-A, CBT, and systemic/integrated family intervention for children with for emotion and behavioural problems.
What You'll Be Doing
The Safeguards program is embedded within the Child & Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) community service. Safeguards provides intensive and flexible short-term delivery of skilled evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people (age 0-17) and their families/caregivers experiencing acute mental health distress This may include individual and family therapy, parenting interventions, group work, and systemic intervention in collaboration with wider systems (e.g., educational, non-government, DJC, and private providers).
Safeguards services operate a proportion of its therapeutic services in extended hours (e.g., Saturdays) to improve access for children, young people, and their families after school or work (penalty rates applicable for after-hours).

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing and registration with AHPRA or membership with AASW for Social Workers. Clinical Psychologists must have a minimum postgraduate Masters or higher in Clinical Psychology. For Social Work, experience as a Level 2 clinician. Occupational Therapist must have experience as a Level 2 clinician. Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 must have relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
- Relevant clinical mental health experience in a community setting which includes working with children and/or adolescents and their families.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the assessment, formulation and treatment of infant, child and adolescent mental health problems and family relationship problems.
