An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, experienced and strategic leader to join the City of Albany team in the position of Manager Governance and Risk.
This leadership role reports to the Executive Director Corporate and Commercial Services and is integral to ensuring the effective management of the City’s governance, risk management and procurement functions.
This dynamic role will see you responsible for:
- Working collaboratively across the organisation to embed good governance practices, strengthen governance capability and support a culture of accountability, transparency and continuous improvement
- Leading and managing the Governance, Risk and Procurement teams, fostering a high-performing, customer-focused and compliant culture;
- Providing strategic advice and leadership to the Executive Management Team, Council and the organisation on governance, risk, compliance and procurement matters;
- Developing, implementing and maintaining contemporary governance frameworks, policies, systems and processes that support accountability, transparency and legislative compliance;
- Overseeing integrity and compliance functions, including complaints management, public interest disclosures, Freedom of Information reviews, delegations and authorisations frameworks;
- Facilitating internal and external audit activities and supporting the organisation’s continuous improvement and compliance obligations; and
- Providing strategic oversight of the City’s procurement function to ensure procurement activities are compliant, transparent, ethical and deliver value for money outcomes for the organisation and community.
