Network Automation Engineer (Cisco NSO) | Sydney | Hybrid |

We are working with a global client and urgently looking for an experienced Network Automation Engineer to design, develop, and deploy network automation solutions using Cisco NSO. You will work closely with network and engineering teams to streamline service provisioning and orchestration.

Key Requirements

Network Engineering

  • 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in service provider or carrier network environments
  • Expert level knowledge of BGP, MPLS, OSPF, EIGRP, and ISIS routing protocols
  • Deep understanding of modern service provider architecture solutions
  • Experience with multiple router operating systems including Cisco IOS-XE, IOS-XR, and Juniper JunOS
  • Multi-vendor experience across Cisco, Juniper, and similar platforms
  • Ability to design and engineer SP networks that integrate with other service providers
  • Experience developing and negotiating IP peering agreements between service providers
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into enterprise and service provider network solutions

Automation and Development

  • Strong hands-on Cisco NSO development experience -- service packages and automation workflows built end to end
  • Proficiency in Python for network automation scripting
  • Solid experience with YANG data modelling
  • Knowledge of NETCONF and RESTCONF protocols
  • REST API integration experience
  • Ansible experience for automation workflows
  • Comfortable working in Linux and Unix environments

One thing worth noting: If your NSO exposure has been on the testing or validation side, checking configuration sync or verifying services provisioned by others, this role is not the right fit. We are looking for someone who has built service packages and automation workflows from the ground up.

Applicants need to have unrestricted, full working rights in Australia to be eligible for the role. Apply now or share your resume directly via email to ***email_hidden***.
