Quality Engineer

Brisbane CBD | 50/50 Hybrid WFH

Contract until 30 June 2027

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a growing team responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling an API test automation ecosystem across a multi-SaaS environment.

This is a hands-on role focused on building scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks, embedding quality engineering practices into CI/CD pipelines, and supporting the modernisation of existing automation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable API test automation frameworks.
• Develop and maintain contract, integration, and end-to-end testing capabilities.
• Design and implement scalable, maintainable UI test automation.
• Establish test orchestration and quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement API performance and compatibility testing.
• Support the replatforming and modernisation of existing automation frameworks and tooling.
• Contribute to test data management, masking, and compliance practices.
• Collaborate with multiple project and platform teams to embed quality engineering into delivery workflows.
• Design and enable AI-driven test automation capabilities to improve coverage, resilience, efficiency, and defect detection.

Skills & Experience

• Extensive hands-on experience as a Quality Engineer within complex SaaS or integration-heavy environments.
• Strong software engineering capability with proven experience building automation frameworks, not just automated tests.
• Deep expertise in API automation testing strategies.
• Strong experience with contract testing, integration testing, and end-to-end validation.
• Experience scaling automation frameworks across multiple projects and platforms.
• Proven experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and implementing quality gates.
• Experience modernising or rebuilding automation frameworks, including designing solutions from scratch.
• Ability to identify which scenarios should and should not be automated and apply the appropriate testing approach.
• Experience leveraging AI within test automation and quality engineering practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and evolving requirements.
