Build your name on work that matters
If you are a property lawyer who is tired of being a small cog in a big machine, this is the role where your work gets seen, your judgement gets trusted, and your career actually moves.
MPH Lawyers is an established Perth corporate and commercial firm with deep roots in this city since 1990. We act for ASX-listed companies, public unlisted entities and private clients on work that is genuinely interesting and genuinely high stakes. Our property and commercial team is busy, growing, and looking for a senior lawyer ready to take ownership.
This is not a seat-warming role. From day one you will run your own matters, manage your own client relationships, and have a direct line to the directors rather than three layers between you and a decision.
Why you will want this role
- Real autonomy. You will be trusted to run your own files end to end, not handed someone else's overflow.
- A genuine path forward. We have a clear progression and partnership pathway for the right person. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us, not pass through.
- Quality over volume. Complex, varied property and commercial work for a strong client base, the kind of matters that build a serious reputation.
- A firm that backs its people. Established, stable and well regarded, with directors who are present and invested in your development.
- Balance that is real. Primarily office based in our Perth CBD offices, with flexibility offered where it makes sense. We want you doing your best work, not clocking hours for the sake of it.
What you will be doing
Working across the full breadth of property and general commercial law, including:
- Drafting and negotiating contracts for the sale of land
- Drafting and negotiating leases and advising on all leasing matters
- Running sales and acquisitions from due diligence through negotiation to completion
- Advising on property development, and matters under the Strata Titles Act, Duties Act, Contaminated Sites Act and Personal Property Securities Act
- Handling land title and land use issues, including drafting and registering easements and restrictive covenants
- Drafting general commercial contracts, including sale of business, sale of shares, finance and securities documents
- Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers and supporting the wider team
- Managing your own client files and delivering clear, commercial, practical advice
What we are looking for
- Minimum 5 years post-admission experience in property and general commercial law. This is the floor. You need to be someone we can confidently leave to run their own matters.
- Sharp analytical, research and drafting skills
- Excellent communication and the ability to build trust with clients
- Comfortable juggling competing priorities, working independently and as part of a team
- High standards, strong attention to detail, and the ability to deliver quality advice under pressure
- Confidence supervising and mentoring more junior lawyers
- Hands-on experience with PEXA and Revenue Online
The Package
Competitive and commensurate with your experience and post-admission years. We benchmark to the market and will structure the right offer for the right person. Plus superannuation and a genuine pathway to progress.
