The Role

We are looking for an experienced

Contract Manager to join our client on 6-month contract (with high potential to extend).

This is a hybrid role based in Brisbane, supporting a major organisation across tendering, contract strategy, project delivery and claims management. You will work closely with sales, project management, site management, supply and other project team members to provide practical, commercial and strategic contract support.

This role would suit a senior contract management professional with significant experience in EPC, power generation, substations, converter stations, grid integration, transmission or similar industrial plant projects. You will be comfortable working across complex commercial, technical and contractual issues, and providing clear advice to stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the sales team during the tendering stage, including leading the review and commenting on commercial and technical tender terms and conditions.
  • Assist with tender-related activities, including risk reviews, qualification documents and other tasks required during the tender process.
  • Develop contract strategies based on company policies, customer requirements and the overall project execution strategy, taking into account risk, pricing, scope and schedule.
  • Provide general advice and proactive support to project management, site management, supply and other project team members in the execution of customer contracts, consortium agreements, subcontracts and supply contracts.
  • Assist in securing contractual rights and entitlements during project delivery, including by identifying risks, opportunities and appropriate contractual protections.
  • Support the drafting, review and negotiation of subcontracts and supply contracts, ensuring they contain appropriate terms to protect the company’s interests, including flow-down of main contract terms where required.
  • Identify opportunities for incoming and outgoing claims, develop claim strategies and prepare notifications, correspondence and related documentation, including amendments and change orders.
  • Prepare and conduct risk and opportunity analyses and presentations, prepare strategy papers, define overall project claim strategies and support contract and claims negotiations and settlements together with project management.
  • Prepare project-related amendments, change orders and other contract-related documents.
  • Be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

About You

You will be a commercially minded contract management professional with strong experience supporting complex projects.

Ideally, You Will Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Economics, Law or a related discipline.
  • More than 10 years’ experience in contract management, ideally within EPC power generation, substations, converter stations, grid integration, transmission or similar industrial plant projects.
  • Strong experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial and technical contract terms.
  • Demonstrated experience in tender support, risk reviews, contract strategy, claims management, change orders and project-related contract documentation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • A practical, proactive and commercially focused approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex project environment.
