About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Accounting Manager to lead the financial operations of our Australian subsidiary. This pivotal role goes beyond routine accounting to encompass financial control, compliance leadership, and business partnership. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting, drive process improvements, and act as a key liaison between local operations and our global headquarters. Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee all aspects of month-end and year-end close, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of management and statutory financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and Group policies.
  • Tax, Compliance & Audit Leadership: Own the end-to-end tax compliance landscape including GST, FBT, PAYG, Corporate Tax, and Transfer Pricing (Local File). Serve as the primary point of contact for the ATO, external auditors, and advisors, managing all audit processes.
  • Business Partnering & Analysis: Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes. Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making by local and group management.
  • Operational Excellence & Control: Design, implement, and monitor robust internal controls. Streamline financial processes and systems (e.g., ERP enhancements, e-invoicing) to improve efficiency and accuracy across AP, AR, payroll, and fixed asset management.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor the local finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Stakeholder & Group Coordination: Facilitate seamless reporting and consolidation with Group Finance in headquarters, ensuring clear communication and alignment on all financial matters.

Skills and Experience

  • Full professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA) and Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably within a multinational corporate environment.
  • Deep, practical expertise in Australian taxation (direct and indirect), financial reporting standards, and corporate compliance. Proven experience managing ATO reviews and external audits.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP highly regarded) and MS Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial audiences and work effectively across cultures.
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights (Permanent Resident or Citizen).
