Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Sleep Scientist (Grade 2) to join the Department of Respiratory and Sleep department.
Please note: There are multiple positions available. Both Full time and part time will be considered.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
About the Role

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic Sleep Scientist (Grade 2) to join our team and be part of the team who will develop this ground-breaking service. Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Sleep Laboratory, including the CPAP clinic
- Provide scientific leadership to junior scientists within the Sleep Medicine Service
- Assist with the ongoing development and conduct of an effective quality assurance program, including achieving and maintaining ASA/NATA accreditation
- Assist with the development and implementation of computer software, instrumentation and testing methodologies
- Provide input to the structure and function of Sleep laboartory to ensure the safe and efficient integration of testing and clinical follow-up
- Assist with the development and conduct teaching / training programs
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous knowledge and experience across a broad range of sleep physiological measurements
- Previous knowledge of scientific equipment and quality assurance, including statistical measures of accuracy and reliability
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on operational excellence and team collaboration
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
