Cyber Security Engineer

We're partnering with a large, complex organisation to find a Cyber Security Engineer to join their growing security team in Brisbane.

This is a hands-on engineering role with genuine breadth - you'll own and mature a portfolio of security capabilities spanning vulnerability management, exposure management, attack surface management, DLP, CASB and data security posture management, while also contributing to security operations, incident response and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll be doing

Designing, implementing and maturing security controls across cloud and on-premise environments. Owning vulnerability and exposure management end to end, from scanning through to remediation tracking. Working alongside a managed SOC to drive detection, triage and response. Evaluating and deploying new security technologies. Coordinating penetration testing activities. Supporting the broader Cyber Resilience Program.

What we're looking for

3-8 years' experience in a hands-on cyber security engineering or specialist role. Genuine experience building and operating security capabilities - not just monitoring them. Hands-on exposure across two or more of: vulnerability management, exposure management, attack surface management, DLP, CASB or DSPM. Strong working knowledge of SIEM platforms, EDR and cloud security controls. Healthcare, critical infrastructure or regulated industry background will be well regarded. Relevant certifications (SSCP, CISSP, BTL1, CEH or similar) are a bonus.
