This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas

  • The Health and Security Assistant role provides support to the nursing team in the delivery of patient care as directed by nursing staff. A current security license is a requirement for the role; however, assistance may be available for completion of the course for the suitable applicant.
  • General assistance in wards
  • Cleaning duties and portering for patient transfers around the facility and undertakes security related duties as required and or directed

How to apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Previous experience working in a company or organisation undertaking commercial cleaning or providing general assistance or a similar role.
  • Food Safety Certificate or willingness to undertake within six months of employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and take directions from supervisor.
  • Ability and willingness to work shifts, on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Current security license - A current security license is a requirement for the role; however, assistance may be available for completion of the course for the suitable applicant.
