ROLE SUMMARY

The Equipment Coordinator role is responsible for assisting the Equipment Lead with the management of equipment servicing contracts, purchasing operational equipment including establishment of supply chains and supporting the Equipment Lead in the development of equipment specifications

Working closely with the Equipment Lead and broader Fleet, Equipment and Clothing team, the role supports the coordination of equipment supply and servicing activities to ensure operational equipment is available, maintained and supplied in accordance with VICSES requirements.

At times, this role will also be required to work outside normal business hours and on weekends to attend various workshops and taskforces.

Whilst this is a non-operational position, this role may provide support to operational staff during major or declared operations. This role is also required to undertake the Asset Duty Officer (ADO) role as per the roster. The ADO is required to provide support members who encounter issues with fleet and equipment after hours.

WHO WE ARE

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
