What You'll Be Doing

To deliver clinical services to the eligible population by performing the full range of professional dental tasks applicable to general dentistry while regularly encountering, diagnosing, and treating dental diseases and oral health problems of greater-than-usual difficulty. The position holder is required to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters but they may require professional supervision from more senior staff members when performing novel, complex or critical tasks. This is a clinical position requiring a full clinical load. Corporate management functions are the responsibility of the LHD's Service Manager.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a dentist and a minimum of two years (full time equivalent) clinical experience as a dentist in Australia encompassing all areas of general dentistry.
  • Proven record of exercising independent professional judgement on routine matters of general dentistry.
  • Demonstrated ability in identifying opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, develop and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with staff.
  • Proven record of providing clinical supervision and support to junior dental officers, technical and support staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
  • Current Drivers Licence, Class C.
