Your new role

As a Digital Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible to support the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of enterprise digital infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. You will undertake moderate to complex technical work, including advanced diagnostics, system administration and lifecycle management of infrastructure platforms. It contributes to ensuring a secure, stable, and scalable technology environment that supports agency operations.

Your responsibilities

  • Deliver administration, maintenance, and optimisation of enterprise infrastructure platforms across cloud and on-premises environments
  • Deliver legacy technology migrations and system upgrades in support of the broader technology architecture uplift
  • Support digital service operations, including incident management, request fulfilment, and problem resolution via the Service Desk
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management activities
  • Liaise with stakeholders to align infrastructure solutions with business needs
  • Contribute to documentation, including architecture, operational procedures, and build/design artefacts
  • Undertake proactive system monitoring, performance tuning, and fault diagnostics
  • Support procurement, vendor engagement, and technology evaluation activities

What you need to succeed

  • Australian citizenship with a current Baseline Security clearance.
  • VMware vSphere virtualization (mandatory), with exposure to Hyper-V (future capability), Dell VPC experience preferrable.
  • Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server build and administration across on-premises and Azure environments (Linux desirable), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, certificate management, SQL Server maintenance and high availability configurations (e.g. DAG) and Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and/or Azure Virtual Desktop environments
  • Backup, restore, and disaster recovery capability (Veeam and Azure Backup preferred)
  • Microsoft 365 administration including Entra ID, Conditional Access, SSO/SAML and Defender.
  • Experience with Exchange, preferably in hybrid on premises/online environments
  • SharePoint, Intune (MDM), and SCCM administration and support
  • Networking fundamentals including firewalls, switches, load balancers, and web/mail proxy configuration
  • Azure platform experience including compute, storage, networking, and analytics services
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Azure Monitor, SolarWinds or equivalent)
  • Proficient in build, design, and technical documentation

What you will get in return
