About Ovum

Until 1993, women weren't required to be included in clinical trials. For decades, medicine was built on data that failed to properly account for women's bodies, symptoms and health outcomes. The consequences are still felt today, with millions of women waiting years for diagnoses and navigating a healthcare system that wasn't built with them in mind. That's why we built Ovum.

Founded by medical doctor and PhD candidate Dr Ariella Heffernan-Marks, Ovum is an intelligent women's health app that connects cycle data, hormones, symptoms, biometrics and lifestyle factors to help women better understand their health and advocate for themselves.

Our mission is to transform every woman's experience of healthcare, and our vision is a world where the gender health gap no longer exists.

Every symptom tracked and insight generated contributes to a growing longitudinal dataset on women's health, helping drive better research, products and healthcare outcomes for generations to come.

The role

This is an opportunity to build one of the most influential TikTok voices in women's health from the ground up. At a time when millions of women are turning to social media to better understand their bodies and find answers that traditional healthcare often overlooks, you'll create content that educates, empowers and sparks conversations that matter.

You'll shape and grow Ovum's TikTok presence, turning complex health topics into engaging, culturally relevant content that women genuinely want to watch, save and share. Your work won't just build an audience, it will help women feel seen, understood and more confident advocating for their health.

What you'll own

Ovum's TikTok presence end-to-end: Execute our TikTok strategy from idea to publication and continuously optimise performance.

Create content people genuinely want to watch: Turn complex women's health topics into engaging, educational and culturally relevant videos.

Edit and produce content in-house: Film, edit and package high-performing videos in CapCut (or equivalent). Hands-on editing is a core part of the role.

Build a high-performing content engine: Develop repeatable content series and scalable systems to repurpose TikTok and podcast content across channels.

Stay ahead of culture: Spot emerging trends, creators and conversations before they peak.

Experiment relentlessly: Test new hooks, formats and series, using performance data to refine content.

Build and engage our community: Turn audience insights into content and foster a trusted community around women's health.

Collaborate closely with the Founder: Ensure Ovum's expert voice remains consistent while bringing new ideas and opportunities to the table.

  • You live and breathe TikTok. You don't just consume content, you analyse it. You instinctively understand what earns attention, what gets shared and why certain videos take off while others don't.
  • You're deeply embedded in culture, spot trends before they peak and are constantly collecting ideas and testing new formats.
  • You've built large engaged audiences, whether through a personal account, brand or community, and understand what it takes to create content people genuinely want to watch and trust.
  • You're an exceptional storyteller with strong editing skills. You're confident filming and self-editing in CapCut or a similar platform and understand how pacing, packaging and iteration turn good ideas into great content.
  • You care deeply about health and wellbeing and are energised by the opportunity to build one of the most influential voices in women's health from the ground up.

What success looks like

In 12 months, Ovum has become a trusted and influential voice in women's health. Our content reaches millions of women, sparks meaningful conversations and genuinely helps people better understand their bodies. People save it, share it and trust it. You've helped move women's health further into the cultural conversation and made Ovum impossible to ignore.

By day 30: Publish 20–30 videos across our existing content series. Develop a deep understanding of Ovum's audience, tone of voice and content pillars. Establish efficient filming, editing and publishing workflows. Establish an initial repurposing cadence across LinkedIn and other priority channels.

By day 60: Publish 60–80 cumulative videos and have all content series running consistently. Build repeatable content, editing and repurposing processes. Establish a repeatable podcast content cadence that fuels multiple channels.

By day 90: Publish 90–120 cumulative videos and have a scalable, high-performing content engine operating across all key series. Build a repeatable multi-channel distribution system that maximises the impact of every video. Establish Ovum as an emerging and trusted voice in women's health, with the foundations in place for long-term growth.
