About the role
We’re seeking an experienced Chemist to join our high performing soil testing laboratory in Bibra Lake.
In this role, you will play a key leadership position in maintaining the laboratory’s quality systems, overseeing the commissioning of new equipment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance both quality and efficiency.
Key responsibilities will include
Ensuring the Lab’s quality management system is maintained in line with ISO 17025
Commissioning of new equipment, including training of staff.
Leading a team of quality control officers
Developing, modifying, verifying and validating methods and associated standard operating procedures as required
Identify and implement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and operational efficiency
Provide technical expertise and support to laboratory technicians and assist with customer enquiries
Act as the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Administrator
About You
Bachelor of Science (Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or a related discipline)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial laboratory environment
Strong communication and organisational skills
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes
Demonstrated business acumen and commercial awareness
Proven leadership capability with a collaborative team approach
A strong advocate for safe work practices, leading by example
Experience with ICP-OES and Flow Injection or Segmented Flow Analysis is highly desirable
