About the Role
Reporting to the Private Wealth Director, this is a key technical role at the heart of our advice process. You will act as a trusted partner to our adviser — supporting strategy development, preparing high-quality advice documents and ensuring every piece of advice is accurate, compliant and genuinely tailored to each client. The role offers meaningful scope and variety, with direct exposure to sophisticated client strategies, without stepping into a client-owning adviser position.
Key Responsibilities
Advice Preparation & Delivery
· Prepare comprehensive, high-quality Statements of Advice (SOAs) and Records of Advice (ROAs)
· Translate adviser and client objectives into clear, compliant and well-structured advice strategies
· Conduct detailed strategy modelling, projections and financial research
· Manage advice documentation end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and consistency
· Oversee and manage the implementation of advice through to completion
Technical Support & Adviser Partnership
· Provide technical guidance across superannuation, SMSFs, investments, taxation, insurance and retirement planning
· Work closely with the adviser to refine strategies and recommendations
· Stay current with legislative and regulatory change to ensure advice remains contemporary and defensible
· Attend client meetings where complex strategies require technical explanation or support
Compliance & Risk
· Ensure all advice meets regulatory, AFSL and internal compliance requirements
· Maintain accurate, well-documented advice records and uphold best-interest obligations
· Support file reviews and contribute to ongoing quality improvement
Relationships & Coordination
· Liaise with product providers including super funds, platforms and insurers
· Collaborate with external professionals such as accountants, lawyers and stockbrokers
· Support the wider team and contribute to a positive, efficient working environment
About You
· Proven experience as a Paraplanner within a financial planning firm
· Proven experience working with high-net-worth clients and complex financial structures
· Strong technical knowledge across superannuation, SMSFs, complex client structures and Australian financial services regulation
· Excellent understanding of compliance requirements, AFSL obligations and advice standards
· Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver to a high standard
· High attention to detail with excellent written communication skills
· Proficiency with financial planning software - experience with Xplan and/or AdviserLogic preferred
· Financial planning qualifications and/or progress toward professional accreditation (desirable)
