Fumens Lawyers is an established firm with offices in Glen Iris, the Melbourne CBD and Glen Waverley, and a busy and growing family law practice. We are a full service law firm with separate Family, Crime, Commercial, Property and Litigation Departments.

The role

We are looking for a junior family lawyer to join our team, based across our Glen Iris and CBD offices. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior or recently admitted lawyer to build a genuine career in family law within a supportive, hands-on environment, working directly alongside experienced practitioners who will train and mentor you as you develop.

The work focuses on family law, with very few (if any) intervention order and family violence matters. Day to day, you can expect to:

• Assist with property settlements, parenting matters and financial agreements;
• Prepare correspondence, court documents and file notes under supervision;
• Attend client conferences and court as your experience grows; and
• Work closely with senior lawyers and Counsel across a varied caseload.

About you

• Admitted to practise in Victoria and holding a current Victorian practising certificate;
• No prior family law experience is required — full training and supervision will be provided;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a careful eye for detail;
• A genuine interest in building a career in family law; and
• Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese will be highly regarded, though it is not essential.
