About The Role
This new Technical Analyst role supports the delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of Agency Systems by providing hands-on technical analysis across applications, integrations, environments, and operational processes. Initially those role will be on a 12 month fixed term engagement.
Their Agency Systems team maintains and enhances several modernised systems and platforms to support its extensive network of rural services, real estate, and insurance operations across Australia.
Working closely with the Technical Product Owner, the role translates business and operational needs into actionable technical outcomes, supports incident/problem resolution, and contributes to solution design, testing, and release readiness.
This role is accountable for producing high-quality technical artifacts, improving system reliability, and enabling efficient delivery through robust analysis, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration.
About You
- Partner with technical teams to analyse business requirements and shape them into clear specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and solution options.
- Conduct impact assessments across application modules, integrations, data flows, and downstream systems for changes and new initiatives.
- Triage incidents and defects by reproducing issues, reviewing logs, isolating root causes, and coordinating resolution across internal teams and vendors.
- Act as the primary communicator between business stakeholders, internal teams, and vendor support functions, translating complex issues into clear, actionable information.
- Define and maintain monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks to support system stability and service continuity.
- Contribute to test strategy and execution across SIT/UAT cycles, including regression, integration testing, and release readiness validation.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation including system/integration diagrams, interface specs, data mappings, run books, and release notes.
- Support change governance through CAB participation, risk assessments, and ensuring appropriate due diligence is applied to all changes.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across applications, processes, automation, error handling, and system performance.
- Collaborate across teams to refine and prioritise the product backlog, contribute to sprint planning, and support a constructive and values-aligned team culture.
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (such as Business, IT, Engineering, Accounting) with equivalent workplace experience in a Technical Analyst / Systems Analyst / Application Support / Integration Support role.
- Knowledge and understanding of agriculture business processes, whether that’s an understanding of Real Estate, Livestock or sales processes.
- General IT experience (applications and/or infrastructure) including knowledge of IT development, operational and change management processes and methodologies.
- An understanding of Agile delivery methodology, with experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps tool.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with all levels of an organisation and convey complicated technology concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
