This is a newly created role in an Australian organisation for an enthusiastic and diligent Payroll System Administrator to join a busy team. This position is ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys the technical side of payroll, has strong systems knowledge, and thrives in an environment where they can make a genuine impact.

The Responsibilities

Reporting directly into the Payroll Manager you will be responsible for system administrator tasks including:

  • Maintain and administer the payroll system
  • Configure and manage workflows, approvals and user access
  • Update pay rates and Enterprise Agreement changes within the system
  • Run payroll reports and investigate payroll queries
  • Support employee progression and remuneration calculations
  • Assist with payroll processing and provide operational payroll support
  • Maintain payroll calendars and leave configurations
  • Document payroll processes and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll systems and processes

The successful applicant

  • Demonstrated payroll systems administration experience (Strong Aurion experience preferred)
  • Strong payroll knowledge across complex payroll environments
  • Experience working with Enterprise Agreements and payroll compliance requirements
  • Advanced reporting and data analysis skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A process improvement mindset and passion for systems
