Temporary Part Time - 30.4 hours per week until 30 June 2027.

Band 5 Salary Range: $40.89 - $47.01 per hour plus 12% superannuation

About The Role

The HIPPY Program Coordinator plays a key role in delivering the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY), ensuring high-quality, consistent program implementation aligned with national guidelines. Reporting to the Team Leader Aboriginal Programs, you will coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the program and support a team of HIPPY Tutors to empower families in their child’s early learning journey.

This is a community-focused role that prioritises culturally safe, inclusive and responsive service delivery, with a strong emphasis on engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.

Key responsibilities include

  • Recruiting and supporting families to participate in the program and maintain engagement.
  • Building strong relationships with local early childhood services, community organisations and stakeholders
  • Ensuring culturally safe practices are embedded in all aspects of program delivery.
  • Managing program administration, reporting and compliance requirements, including HIPPY Australia documentation
  • Supporting continuous improvement through participation in evaluation, research and advisory group activities
  • Monitoring program budgets and supporting financial tracking under direction.

About You

You are a passionate and community-minded professional with experience in early childhood, community services or a related field. You bring a strong understanding of culturally safe practice and are committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities.

You are highly organised, a confident communicator, and able to balance multiple priorities to achieve positive outcomes.

You will so have

  • Early Childhood Education, Community Development, Bachelor of Social Work, Diploma of Welfare Studies or equivalent qualifications or lived experience in a related discipline appropriate to the coordination of child, youth family and community services.
  • Experience working in an early childhood service or system and strong foundations in early childhood development and/or early intervention programs for children and their families.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families. This position acknowledges the strengths of candidates who have a history with working with the local community and this position is preferential towards candidates who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills
