Your new company
Our client, a leading Mining company, is recruiting a motivated and capable Environmental Officer to join their mining operations based in a remote site in the Northern Territory.
Your new role
You will be responsible for delivering environmental monitoring programs, supporting compliance activities, and contributing to environmental reporting and data analysis. The position involves a combination of field-based work in remote conditions, and office-based technical reporting. This is a Temporary role with an initial duration of 6 months, and a potential extension, available on a 4 days on / 3 days off roster from Darwin or Cairns.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Conduct routine environmental monitoring programs (e.g., water, dust, noise, flora/fauna surveys).
- Collect, record, and manage environmental samples in accordance with approved procedures.
- Undertake inspections and audits of site activities to ensure environmental compliance.
- Compile, analyse, and interpret environmental data.
- Prepare internal and external reports.
- Assist in the preparation of environmental management plans and documentation.
- Assist in incident investigations and environmental risk assessments.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Degree or tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in an environmental role, ideally within the mining / resources sector in Australia.
- Experience undertaking environmental monitoring and field work.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
- High level of competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Current full manual driver's licence.
- Experience using ArcGIS or other GIS software is desirable.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
