ABOUT THE ROLE

This isn’t a passenger seat. As Market Making 2IC at Bet Right, you’ll be the engine behind our market making operation. You’re the person the Head of Market Making trusts to run the floor, call the shots and make the tough risk decisions when they matter most.

You’ll own the financial and operational performance of our sports market making function day-in, day-out. You’ll build and mentor a crew of Market Makers, set the standard for market quality, and help forge the culture that makes Bet Right’s markets the sharpest in the game.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

What you’ll own.

Step up as Head of Market Making when needed, with full accountability and no hesitation
Drive wagering strategy and market direction across the Bet Right group
Build a high-performance team of Market Makers who live and breathe the Bet Right mission
Coach, mentor and develop Market Makers and wagering graduates into the best version of themselves
Take hands-on ownership of risk across racing and sport, including real-time client-level decisions
Own and strengthen relationships with third-party data providers and regulatory bodies
Keep governance tight, with compliance, policies and procedures upheld across every corner of the floor
Step in on client advocacy and admin when it counts, because service standards never slip

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

What a great day looks like.

Lock down the integrity and accuracy of all sports and racing market making systems: controls, staffing, financials
Dissect the previous day’s results, hunt down anomalies and suspicious activity, and act fast
Build sharp, commercially competitive markets across all sports and benchmark them against the best
Keep the client watch list and Risk Management System spotless, every profile current, every condition noted
Make decisive, real-time bet confirmation calls using the RMS, CRM and Bet Right’s information systems
Lead your Market Makers with purpose: clear KPIs, timely reviews, high standards
Keep the Head of Market Making and COO across every material event the moment it matters
Deliver the weekly market making report to management. Sharp, accurate, on time.
Zero errors in resulting. Every time. No exceptions.
Handle client complaints with professionalism and resolve them per the complaint’s procedure
Get markets live at least one day before events, without fail

How we keep score.

Daily analysis - Completed by the agreed deadline, every day
Market posting - Live at least 1 day prior to events
Market quality - Commercially sharp and consistent with competitors
Client profiles - 100% current, all special conditions captured
Resulting accuracy - Zero errors. Non-negotiable.
Team performance - Market Makers meeting their job descriptions and KPIs
Escalation - All substantial events to senior management in real time
Complaints -Every one handled per the complaints procedure
Performance reviews - On time, followed up, no loose ends

ROLE DETAILS

The details.

Employment type - Full-time, permanent
Ordinary hours - 38 hours per week (flexible structure by agreement)
Reports to - Head of Market Making
Manages - Market Makers
Annual leave - 20 days per year
Superannuation -Paid per Commonwealth legislation
Remuneration - Competitive base salary + performance bonus & incentives
Notice period - 2 months (employer and employee)
Public holidays - Equivalent leave day granted for each public holiday worked
Probity - Police clearance and regulatory checks required
