PRIMARY HANDCRAFT SPECIALIST TEACHER

LSL Replacement Position – Term 4, 2026

Part-Time (0.78 FTE – 4 days per week)

Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School (MRSS) is a K–12 co-educational, non-denominational school situated

in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Primary Handcraft Teacher for Term 4, 2026. This part-time position involves preparing and teaching Handcraft to students from Class 1 to Class 6 within a Steiner educational environment, four days a week (Monday to Thursday), including some availability for handover at the end of Term 3 from Monday 31st of August.

About this Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate handcraft lessons to students from Class 1 to Class 6. The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge, understanding and practical teaching experience in a range of handcraft disciplines, including:

  • Knitting
  • Crochet
  • Weaving
  • Embroidery and needlework
  • Doll making
  • Felt toy making
  • Sewing and textile crafts

Requirments

  • Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
  • A sound understanding of, and commitment to, current Child Safety Standards
  • Experience in Steiner Education and an understanding of Steiner pedagogy is highly desirable.
