Primary objective

To undertake a relevant Certificate IV qualification and structured on-the-job training to develop the knowledge, skills, and

practical experience required to support the successful delivery of capital works, minor works, and planned maintenance

programs under the guidance of Project Managers, ensuring projects are delivered within agreed timeframes, scope, and

budget.

Context statement

Transport and Civil Infrastructure provide specialist project and contract management services for the planning, construction

and maintenance of transport infrastructure assets across the Territory, including roads, bridges, aerodromes, barge landings

and marine infrastructure.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Assist with site supervision and documentation of works to ensure workmanship and materials comply with specifications

and contract requirements.

2. Assist with maintaining construction records, including as-constructed drawings, daily diaries and photographic records.

3. Assist with asset inspections to support the preparation of project proposals, technical reports, cost estimates, contract

documentation, procurement and contract administration.

4. Assist in drafting documentation for Tier 1 and Tier 2 works and contribute to project presentations.

5. Assist with tender assessments to build knowledge of the Value for Territory process.

6. Assist with design reviews to understand specific project constraints.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Completed year 12 or relevant industry experience, including traffic management and work health and safety.

2. Basic knowledge of the civil construction industry or interest in project management.

3. Ability to prioritise workload and effectively manage time to meet deadlines.

4. Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and accurate correspondence.

5. Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and communicate with technical and non-technical

stakeholders in a professional manner.

6. Basic information technology skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.

7. Ability to complete Certificate IV level training.

8. Current NT driver’s licence.

Desirable

1. Possess or have the ability to obtain, a General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
