About The Role

The Horticultural Maintenance Worker plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the City of Ballarat’s gardens and streetscapes to the highest standards

This hands-on position involves Designing, installing and maintaining floral displays, garden bed development, landscaping projects, turf care and tree planting,

The role also includes operating and maintaining a variety of vehicles and mechanical equipment safely and efficiently. With a strong focus on horticulture, plant operation, customer service, and teamwork, the successful candidate will contribute to creating vibrant public spaces while promoting safe work practices and supporting the City of Ballarat’s goals and vision.

About You

You are a qualified horticultural professional with a minimum Certificate III in Gardening, Landscaping, or a related trade, and hold a current Victorian Car Driver’s License.

You have hands-on experience operating horticultural machinery, bring expertise in best Horticulture practices, have relevant gardening experience, plant selection knowledge, able to identify and control pest and diseases and turf management

Your strong understanding of health and safety practices complements your ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.

You possess well-developed communication and writing skills, enabling you to maintain accurate records and contribute to high-quality service delivery across Ballarat’s green spaces.
