The Transcultural Mental Health Centre (TMHC) is a state-wide NSW Health service hosted within Western Sydney LHD. Based at the historic Cumberland Hospital, you’ll join a collaborative, purpose-driven team shaping inclusive mental health care.

What you'll be doing
In this specialist clinical consultancy role, you will support mental health teams and services across NSW to deliver culturally responsive, safe, and effective care.
- Provide expert transcultural consultation via phone & telehealth
- Deliver culturally informed assessments, formulations & care plans
- Support clinicians managing complex CALD client presentations
- Provide short-term interventions and joint clinical consultations
- Build capability through education, advice and resource sharing

Essential Requirements
- License: Current Valid Australian Drivers Licence
- Qualification: Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Psychology
- Registration: Full Registration with AHPRA for Occupational Therapy or Psychology professions, or eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for Social Work.
Selection Criteria
- Clinical experience in mental health (or related) setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of mental health experiences related to migrant and refugee populations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of service providers across various NSW Health settings.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Experience in cross cultural practice, utilising interpreters and/or bilingual skills in mental health practice.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with attention to detail and an Ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills in English and in one or more other languages.
- Current Valid Australian Drivers Licence
