Primary objective

To plan and execute projects for the evaluation and review of public bodies and public officers and monitor the implementation of

recommendations made by the Commissioner.

Context statement

The Strategic Intelligence and Reviews unit supports the Commissioner in the exercise of their powers and functions by gathering

intelligence about improper conduct and conducting preliminary inquiries, evaluations and reviews and intelligence gathering in

accordance with the ICAC Act.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Plan, prepare and execute evaluations and reviews of public bodies and public officers.

2. Undertake research and analysis about improper conduct.

3. Manage and analyse large volumes of information and prepare detailed reports to support evidence-based findings and

recommendations for addressing improper conduct risks.

4. Monitor and report on the implementation of recommendations made in accordance with the ICAC Act.

5. Provide advice and assistance on data collection, use and quality assurance practices to support reliable and accurate internal and

external reporting.

6. Develop business architecture including policies, procedures, manuals and supporting documentation.

7. Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated experience supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of evaluations and reviews, including coordination and

contribution to research and analysis.

2. Demonstrated ability to organise workloads, determine priorities, use judgement and initiative, and maintain high quality output.

3. Strong written and verbal communication skills particularly in preparation of complex and sensitive reports and correspondence,

including directions and instructions presented in a concise and logical manner.

4. Demonstrated ability to gather, synthesise and analyse data from various sources to prepare reports that identify key issues, trends

and emerging risks.

5. Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build positive relationships and engage productively with a range of stakeholders at

all levels.

6. Demonstrated strategic mindset with a strong understanding of governance and legislative frameworks and the ability to identify risks

within these frameworks.

7. Demonstrated experience in secure record keeping, case management and the maintenance of confidential and sensitive information.

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualifications in business, law, audit, investigations or a related field.
