Role Detail

Based in the Sydney CBD office, with a hybrid approach to WFH, this role leads Mallesons experiential marketing strategy, driving revenue through high impact data-driven events, sponsorships, and integrated marketing initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Brand and Marketing in this 14mth parental leave cover, you will focus on ensuring Mallesons remains a leader in innovative, market-relevant events and sponsorships that deliver on the Mallesons strategy, enhance client engagement and elevate Mallesons brand.

Innovation, creativity, cross-functional collaboration and data backed strategies are imperative to this role, along with fostering a high-performing, engaged team.

You will be part of the wider Business Development & Marketing (BD&M) team, who supports the firm to develop strong and enduring relationships with our clients, understanding and identify opportunities in our core markets, winning new business, creating unique client experiences and building a positive reputation as a market leader.

As a member of the BD&M Leadership Group, key responsibilities include:

  • Playing a key role in implementing and delivering on the vision for Mallesons experiential marketing program and the Brand Sponsorship strategy, working closely with the Director of Brand and Marketing.
  • Leading, developing and executing a distinctive event marketing program aligned with the firm's brand, client, and sector strategies, driving client engagement and boosting brand visibility.
  • Working in close collaboration with key internal stakeholders to ensure the event marketing and sponsorship plan is aligned with evolving client needs, expectations and targeted client strategies.
  • Implementing a data-driven strategy to inform tactics and evaluate success.
  • Driving innovation and AI enablement in event processes, systems, and strategy, ahead of the market.
  • Leading cross-functional teams in delivering integrated marketing efforts, coordinating across all BD&M divisions.
  • Driving growth by securing and activating high-value sponsorships and partnerships that elevate the Mallesons brand.
  • Negotiating and developing creative sponsorship packages that meet client and firm needs while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Evaluating the performance of brand sponsorships and adjust strategies to maximise ROI
  • Leading, developing and retaining talent in the Event Marketing team, with a focus on fostering a high performance, supportive culture.
  • Driving the continuous evolution of strategies to maintain Mallesons as a leader in event marketing and sponsorship initiatives.

  • Proven experience in leading and executing events and sponsorship strategy aligned to business goals.

  • A forward thinking, AI progressive, and digitally curious approach
  • An ability to conceptualise, plan and execute high impact events and sponsorships programs that enhance brand visibility, firm reputation, and provide differentiated client relationship building opportunities.
  • Deep knowledge of market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscapes.
  • Commercial acumen to ensure events and sponsorships deliver measurable value.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills to secure valuable sponsorships and manage high-level external relationships.
  • Ability to direct and manage, for yourself and your team, multiple complex projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment.
