Litigation Lawyer

Our client is a highly regarded boutique litigation practice seeking a Litigation Associate to join its specialist team. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a high-quality litigation role offering complex, engaging work without the bureaucracy of a large firm environment.

In this role, you will work directly with experienced litigation lawyers on a broad range of commercial and civil dispute resolution matters. You will gain early client exposure, hands-on mentoring, and increasing responsibility across matters, with the support of a tight-knit and collaborative team that values strategy, outcomes, and practical legal thinking over process-heavy approaches.

The practice is known for its strong pipeline of repeat commercial and private client disputes, providing consistent exposure to high-value and varied litigation work. The team is commercially pragmatic, highly collaborative, and committed to developing lawyers through meaningful involvement in all stages of dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Acting in commercial litigation and contractual dispute matters

• Assisting with business and shareholder disputes

• Handling debt recovery and enforcement proceedings

• Managing property and leasing-related disputes

• Supporting insolvency-related litigation matters

• Assisting with defamation and reputational matters

• Preparing and appearing in interlocutory applications and injunction proceedings

• Participating in mediations, settlement conferences, and other ADR processes

• Engaging directly with clients and contributing to case strategy from an early stage

About You

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent and admitted (or eligible for admission) in Queensland

• Experience in litigation or dispute resolution (Associate level preferred)

• Strong drafting, research, and advocacy skills

• Confident communicator with a commercially pragmatic mindset

• Ability to manage files with appropriate supervision and increasing autonomy

• Interest in developing a long-term career in commercial litigation

• Collaborative team player who thrives in a hands-on, high-support environment
