Completion Engineer – Building Projects

Join our Advisory team to drive completion and commissioning readiness across commercial and building construction projects, helping clients achieve a smooth handover.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Completion Engineer to support clients across a range of projects and delivery stages. You will coordinate completion systems, quality records, defects, testing documentation and handover deliverables to ensure each project is finished safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Coordinate project completion activities across construction, services, commissioning, quality and handover teams.

· Manage completion registers, defect lists, punch lists and works-to-go items through to closure.

· Track readiness for practical completion, commissioning, client inspections and final handover.

· Review and compile, test records, commissioning sheets, operation and maintenance manuals, as-built drawings and handover dossiers.

· Support subcontractors and site teams to close out outstanding documentation

· Monitor progress against completion milestones and provide regular status updates, risks and action plans.

· Assist with systemisation, area handover planning and sequencing of completion activities.

· Ensure completed works meet project specifications, building codes, safety requirements and client expectations.

· Facilitate inspections, walkdowns and acceptance processes with consultants, authorities, clients and internal stakeholders.

· Promote a proactive approach to defect prevention, quality assurance and timely issue resolution.

· Run, coordinate and minute completion meetings

What you’ll Bring

· A degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Building, Project Management or a related field — though we care just as much about hands-on experience as formal qualifications.

· A background in building construction, project engineering, completions, commissioning, quality assurance or handover coordination.

· A solid feel for construction documentation, defects management, testing records and close-out processes.

· Confidence reading drawings, specifications, scopes of work and technical documentation.

· A naturally organised approach — you can juggle competing priorities and still follow through on the small details that matter.

· Easy, clear communication, whether you're coordinating with subcontractors, consultants, site supervisors or client representatives.

· Comfort with Microsoft Office, and ideally some experience with construction management, quality, defects or completions systems.

· A genuine commitment to safety, quality, compliance and getting things done as a team.

Desirable Experience

· Experience on health, Commercial, or mixed-use building projects.

· Knowledge of commissioning processes for building services, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire, security and vertical transport systems.

· Experience coordinating practical completion, occupancy permits, authority inspections or client handover requirements.

· Familiarity with defects platforms, document control systems and project reporting dashboards.

· Experience in the Facility/ Asset Management of buildings

· Minimum 2 years of experience
